Man shot at for biting friend's cheek

NEW DELHI: A booze party among friends in northeast Delhi's Shastri Park took an ugly turn when a 25-year-old man,

Sameer

, bit the cheek of another man,

Bilal

, duringan argument over supremacy in the area.
Seeking retribution, Bilal returned with some people and shot at and stabbed Sameer.
Sameer is in hospital with stab wounds to the buttocks and bullet wounds to hislegs.

The suspects in the case are absconding.
Police have filed an FIR under sections for attempted murder and Arms Act and are searching for the accused.

The incident took place around 8.30pm on Jan 26.
Those involved in the case are residents of the Buland Masjid locality.

Sameer Ahmed

, a bag manufacturer, was drinking with friends, identified as Bilal, Firoze, Saud, and

Salim

, a history-sheeter.
During their drunken banter, an argument ensued over supremacy in the area and snowballed into a scuffle, leading to Sameer biting Bilal's cheek. Bilal and his friends left the spot and returned armed with weapons. They stabbed Sameer in the buttocks and fired at both of his legs.

The incident was captured on a CCTV camera. The footage showed the assailants attacking Sameer, who lay on the ground bleeding. The accused also fired in the air before leaving the scene.
Police were alerted about the incident through a PCR call.
"Sameer Ahmed was found injured on both his legs and was admitted to JPC Hospital. He was then referred to GTB Hospital and further to

RML Hospital

for treatment," said a senior officer.
Police filed an FIR based on Sameer's statement and raided the accused's hideouts but they remain on the run. A probe is being conducted to trace the source of the weapons, police said.
