Ahead of LSG's match against table toppers Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, the host broadcaster shared a video of Rahul talking about IPL and Dhoni.
Rahul says, "Ever since the IPL started, we were all youngsters, we used to watch what a big platform this is, what a big scale cricket is on, how much love the people are giving it and how much they enjoy it how much entertainment IPL is, so that's what draws you to play in the IPL."
"But after playing, I used to see other teams, I used to look at MS Dhoni, his cap always had the No.
1, that is he is the first player for CSK. So the cricketers of our batch, we always used to think we won't get the chance of becoming the first player of a team. So when the team of Lucknow came in the IPL, and when they called me asking if I would be interested to play for them, captain the team, the first thing that struck me was that now my cap will also have No. 1 and I'll be the first player to play for Lucknow," Rahul adds.
Lucknow Super Giants have beaten Chennai Super Kings in both their matches this season.
