By Rittick Mondal: Bengali actor Bony Sengupta, who was recently questioned by the Enforcement Directorate for his alleged involvement in a teachers’ recruitment scam, had sold a luxury car which he had bought with the help of Trinamool Congress (TMC) youth wing leader Kuntal Ghosh, sources inside ED told India Today.

Sengupta has been under the scanner of the financial probe agency for this car.

According to sources, Trinamool Congress leader Kuntal Ghosh had transferred money to an automobile agency so that Bonny Sengupta could buy a luxury car. Kuntal Ghosh had allegedly paid Rs 30-45 lakh for the car.

However, Bonny Sengupta claimed that the money was transferred as payment for over 20 events he had attended for Kuntal Ghosh.

The actor had then sold the said car to a man in December 2021.

The car’s present owner is one Souvik Mukherjee, a resident of New Town area. Meanwhile, a security guard at the housing where Souvik Mukherjee’s residence is claimed Mukherjee has a flat in Uttara Tritiya housing. The guard alleged that he last saw Souvik some five months ago, when he had come to take his father from that flat. Since then, the flat has been empty, the security guard told India Today.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday questioned Bengali actor Bonny Sengupta for at least eight hours in connection with the alleged teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal.
