NEW DELH: In a swipe at the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said there were people who were "hell-bent" on denting his image and have gone so far as "giving supari (contract)" and colluding with others inside and outside the country to achieve their goal.
"Since 2014, there are some people who have publicly announced their aim to destroy Modi's image. For this, they have given 'supari' to others. Some are working within India and some are abroad but they don't know that common Indians are my 'Suraksha Kavach'," PM Modi told a gathering in Bhopal.

The semi-high speed train was flagged off from Rani Kamalapati railway station in the presence of railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangu Bhai Patel and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

While addressing the gathering after flagging off the premium service, PM Modi said the aim of his government was to transform the railway sector and make travel convenient for citizens. "Previous governments were busy with public appeasement. But this government is dedicated to satisfying people’s needs and aspirations ... Vande Bharat express train showcases the skill, potential and confidence of our nation," he said.

In another potshot at the Congress, the PM said: "They (the previous governments) considered one family as the first family of the country and ignored the poor and middle class. Railways is a living example of this."
This is the 11th Vande Bharat Express service on the Indian Railway network and will run on all days except Saturday.
Assembly polls are scheduled to be held in MP at the end of the year.
