Kumaraswamy clarified that he is not seeking protection for Prajwal Revanna and urged the Karnataka government to uncover the truth behind the issue. He stressed that the government must expose the real picture and ground reality, not him.

The Karnataka government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case, headed by IPS officer Vijay Kumar Singh and including DG CID Suman D Pennekar and IPS officer Seema Latkar. The National Commission for Women has also taken suo motu cognizance of the case and has requested the Karnataka Director General of Police to submit a detailed report within three days.
Prajwal Revanna is the BJP-JD(S) alliance candidate in Hassan, Karnataka, which went to the polls on April 26 during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
