PATNA: Union home minister

Amit Shah

on Monday said PM Narendra

Modi

’s

third term

will ensure

uniform civil code

(

UCC

) in the country.
Addressing election rallies in Jhanjharpur and Begusarai, Shah said the Opposition would not be able to come to power and hence their claims like bringing back Article 370 and triple talaq would never fructify.
Shah recalled how Rahul Gandhi had opposed the abrogation of Article 370 in J&K and said the Congress and its allies were against the Ram temple construction at Ayodhya and abolition of triple talaq.

He said both Congress and RJD chief Lalu Prasad have always acted against backward and extremely backward castes to promote dynastic rule and blamed them for ignoring former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur, who was honoured with the Bharat Ratna by NDA govt.

Targeting the Congress, Shah said had the party not opposed the Mandal Commission report in 1990, members of the backward class would have got reservation in 1957 itself. “The grand old party shelved the Kaka Kelkar Committee report because of which the backwards suffered,” he alleged.
Shah asked people whether they want a ‘majboor’ (compulsive) or a ‘majboot’ (strong) govt, which only Modi can provide.
“The opposition alliance doesn’t even know its PM face and wants to run the country in turns on a yearly basis. While Lalu wants to make his son Tejashwi the Bihar CM, Sonia Gandhi is only interested in ensuring her son Rahul as the country’s PM,” Shah said while mentioning the Pulwama terror attack and the counter surgical strike by the Indian Air Force in Pakistan’s Balakot to avenge the sacrifice of 40 CRPF personnel.

He reminded people of scams including the fodder scam, cobalt machine purchase scam, bitumen and land-for-railway-job scams while targeting the opposition.
While rooting for BJP candidate Giriraj Singh in Begusarai, Shah praised his works as a minister in the Modi govt and enumerated several development projects and schemes, including the revival of Barauni Refinery and setting up of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited.
