, and the film had its OTT release a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the film faced controversy as some dialogues and scenes in the film have hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, and a complaint has been filed against the Nayanthara starrer at the

Mumbai police

. Several protests stirred up against Nayanthara and her film for promoting anti-Hindu content, while protestors took to social media to mock the digital platform to remove

'Annapoorani'

from their platform.
Following continuous protests and trolls, the OTT platform streaming Nayanthara's 'Annapoorani' has withdrawn the film from their site, and it has come as a shocker for fans. 'Annapoorani' will be reportedly reuploaded on the streaming platform once the controversial scenes and dialogues in the film are expected to be removed or altered and the film gets a new version for the digital platform. Meanwhile, the makers of 'Annapoorani' have also apologised for the inconvenience and hurt caused to the sentiments of the respective communities.
On the other hand, fans of Nayanthara have stood in support of the actress and her film and questioned the protestors for mocking a film that has already been certified by the CBFC.
