A man in Karnataka's Mysuru area has alleged that he was beaten up by a group of people for composing a song praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, the police are yet to verify his claims.

The man, Rohit Kumar, who hails from Mellahalli village in Mandya district, said that he composed and released a song praising PM Modi on his YouTube and shared the composition with one of his acquaintances.

In his statement to the police, Rohit Kumar claimed, "I was sharing my channel link and asking all to subscribe. One of the guys came out near the government guest house. I didn’t know he was a Muslim. I asked him to watch the song and asked him to share it and subscribe to my channel."

"He watched it and said it was nice. He said he would take me inside to meet his friends so that this could be shared. As soon as I entered the room, a guy closed my mouth and held my hands from behind. He started abusing me for making this song on PM Modi," Rohit added.

Rohit Kumar also claimed that the men abused him, urinated on him and asked him to chant 'Pakistan Zindabad'.

The police intervened and took Rohit for medical attention following the attack.

However, Mysuru police said they were verifying Rohit's claims and would share the details of the turn of events soon.

The police said that they were having a look at the CCTV footage at the guest house and investigating the matter further.
