Man ties pregnant wife to bed, sets her on fire in Amritsar

A man allegedly killed his pregnant wife after tying her to a bed and setting her on fire in Punjab's Amritsar. The incident happened on Friday in Buled Nangal village in Rayya area.

Police said the couple used to have frequent quarrels. On Friday, the couple had a heated argument following which Sukhdev tied Pinky, who was six months pregnant, to a bed and set her on fire.

Inspector Gurvinder Singh said Pinky, who was pregnant with twins, died on the spot. Sukhdev is absconding.

A case has been registered, and a search is on for the accused, the inspector said.
