A woman was rescued from the aide of Karnataka MLA HD Revanna's farmhouse in Kaenahalli after she was allegedly kidnapped a few days ago. The development came amid the sex scandal involving suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna.

The Karnataka Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) conducted an operation and rescued her from HD Revanna's aide Rajasekhar's farmhouse.

The woman, whose identity was not known, was allegedly kidnapped from her home on April 29 by Satish Babanna, a relative of HD Revanna. She had been held captive by Rajashekhar at his farmhouse since then.

The victim was rescued and brought to Bengaluru by the SIT. She was among the several victims who featured in the alleged sex tapes of Prajwal Revanna.

Earlier in the day, HD Revanna was arrested by the SIT from his father and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda's home in connection with a kidnapping case registered against him.

The Karnataka Police team took HD Revanna into custody soon after his request for interim protection from arrest in a kidnapping case was rejected by a Bengaluru court.

HD Revanna is facing a kidnapping case following allegations that his associate abducted a 20-year-old man's mother. Raju HD, the complainant, along with his mother, worked as a house help at HD Revanna's farmhouse.

The case against HD Revanna was filed under Section 364A (kidnap) and Section 365 (forceful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and non-bailable sections were invoked by Karnataka Police.

Explicit video clips allegedly involving Prajwal Revanna had started making the rounds in Hassan in recent days, following which the state government constituted the SIT to probe the alleged sex scandal involving him.

A lookout notice was issued against HD Revanna and Prajwal Revanna by the SIT. Prajwal Revanna has already flown abroad and is in Germany.

Prajwal Revanna, who is the grandson of HD Deve Gowda, was the BJP-JD(S) alliance's candidate from Hassan, which went to polls on April 26.
