J&K: 5 terrorists killed in ongoing Kulgam encounter

NEW DELHI: In the ongoing encounter in the

Kulgam

district of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have successfully eliminated five Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists, as reported by

Kashmir Police

on Friday. The operation, now in its final stages, includes the sanitization of the area.
A post on the official

handle stated, "Day 2: Five terrorists neutralized by Kulgam Police, Army, and CRPF.

Incriminating materials were recovered. Operation in the final stage; area being sanitized."
Although the operation is still underway, sources have confirmed that heavy exchanges of fire continue between security forces and terrorists from across the border.
The encounter commenced on Thursday afternoon in the Samno pocket of the

DH Pora area of Kulgam district
