The development will have a direct impact on Telangana Chief Minister’s daughter K Kavitha, India Today has learnt from reliable sources.

DIRECT IMPACT ON K KAVITHA's ROLE

K Kavitha, has been earlier questioned by the ED and according to sources, the officials suspect that she was one of the beneficiaries of the excise policy. Sarath Reddy’s disclosure will have a direct impact on the alleged role of K Kavitha and Aam Aadmi Party’s Vijay Nair, sources have said.

According to the ED, Vijay Nair, on behalf of leaders of AAP, had received kickbacks to the tune of Rs 100 Cr from the South group comprising of Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Raghav Magunta, Sarath Reddy and K Kavitha.

According to the investigation documents accessed by India Today, Arun Pillai had a close relationship with Sarath Reddy and Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MSR). Abhishek Boinpalli and Buchi Babu (a Chartered Accountant, representative of the South Group) were associates of Arun and were mostly together in the meetings that Sameer Mahandru attended with Arun.

Many of these meetings took place at the Oberoi, New Delhi, where the agenda was to discuss investments in the Delhi liquor business, the documents revealed. Abhishek Boinpalli, was running the Retail Operations of five zones controlled by Sarath Reddy in the name of Trident Chemphar Limited, Avantika Contractors (I) Ltd. and Organomix Ecosystems Pvt. ED OFFICIALS CITE DELHI MEETING

To establish the link between Sarath Reddy and K Kavitha, officials have also cited one of the meetings. According to the officials, in September, 2021, there was a meeting in Hotel Taj Mansingh, Delhi. This dinner meeting was to acknowledge the wholesale distribution. Sarath Reddy was part of the meeting and was also congratulated for the winning of retail zones in Delhi.

Apart From K Kavitha, his disclosure about Vijay Nair, an alleged associate of jailed former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, is also going to mount trouble for AAP.

During the formulation of the policy (January – March 2021) Sarath Reddy was in constant touch with Vijay Nair and details were shared with him.
