Two men were arrested from Punjab by the Mumbai Police's crime branch for allegedly supplying guns to the two people who fired shots outside Salman Khan's house in Mumbai. Bike-borne gunmen had fired multiple rounds of bullets outside the actor's house in Mumbai's Bandra area on April 14.

The two men who were arrested in Punjab have been identified as Sonu Subhash Chander (37) and Anuj Thapan (32).

A few days after the shooting, the two accused were arrested in Gujarat's Bhuj by joint teams of the Mumbai and Kutch police.

The accused, Vicky Sahab Gupta and Sagar Shrijogendra Pal, were hired by the gang of Anmol Bishnoi, brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, and were paid some amount of money for the crime, police sources had confirmed to India Today.

Soon after the shooting outside Salman Khan's home, Anmol Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the incident in a social media post. Anmol Bishnoi lives in the US.

Both Lawrence Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi were declared as "wanted accused" in connection with the incident.

On Tuesday, the Mumbai police's crime branch recovered two pistols, magazines and bullets from the Tapi river in Gujarat during a search operation to recover weapons allegedly used in the shooting.

As per a report by the news agency citing the police, the shooter's main objective behind firing outside Salman Khan's house was to create "terror".
