Feels like I've returned home: Rahul Gandhi as Bharat Jodo Yatra enters J&K

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said he had walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and talked to thousands of people.

By India Today Web Desk: As the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recalled his roots, saying my ancestors belonged to this land.

"I am going back to my roots, I know the suffering of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and come to you with a bowed head," said the Congress leader.

Addressing a rally, the former Congress president said he had walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and talked to thousands of people. The Congress MP also launched a scathing attack on the BJP and accused the RSS of spreading alleged hatred.

"The BJP and RSS have spread hatred. I earlier thought it ran deep but it does not and is mainly seen on television," Gandhi was quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.

Amid chants of "Nafrat Chodo Bharat Jodo" (Leave hatred and unite India), Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra yatra entered Jammu and Kashmir via Pathankot-Punjab. This is the final phase of the 3500-km foot march by the Congress leader which started from Kanyakumari in September.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra kickstarted on September 7 last year from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. The yatra will culminate on January 26 in Jammu and Kashmir.
