NEW DELHI:

Delhi court

has sanctioned a three-day

interim bail

to AAP leader

Manish Sisodia

who is currently under arrest in connection with an alleged excise policy scam. The court's decision will enable Sisodia to attend his

niece's wedding

, with the relief period spanning from February 13 to February 15.
Special Judge M K Nagpal, overseeing the corruption and money laundering cases investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), respectively, granted the temporary reprieve.

Sisodia, who served as the former deputy chief minister, was apprehended by the CBI on February 26, 2023, on charges related to corruption linked to the formulation and execution of the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. Subsequently, the ED took him into custody on March 9 from Tihar jail in connection with an associated money laundering case.
Sisodia filed an application on January 27 in both cases handled by the CBI and ED. His request sought custody parole twice a week to visit his wife, who has been grappling with multiple sclerosis for more than two decades.
