Clash breaks out among inmates in Punjab jail, 2 dead

Two inmates were killed and two others were injured in a clash amongst prisoners in a jail in Punjab's Sangrur, police said.

The inmates who died were identified as Harsh and Dharmender, while Gagandeep Singh and Mohd Sehwaz were injured. Police said they were investigating the cause of the clash.

A doctor at a government hospital in Sangrur said four inmates were brought to the hospital, of which two of them were declared brought dead.

He also said the two injured inmates were referred to a hospital in Patiala.

The inmates who were wounded got injuries on their backs, heads, arms and ears caused by a sharp object, the doctor further said.
