Goa DGP Jaspal Singh told India Today TV that the bloodstains at the murder scene were of the mother who killed her 4-year-old son.

The CEO of a Bengaluru-based firm, who allegedly killed her four-year-old son at a service apartment in Goa, was arrested on Monday.

The Goa top cop said that Suchana Seth has not been cooperating with the investigating agencies.

Singh said that Seth came to Goa on January 6 and returned on January 7. He said that the police are also investigating the cough syrup that was recovered from the room.

Singh said that the court has granted a 6-day police remand for the woman, and an interrogation is currently underway. He also noted that the blood in the serviced apartment appears to belong to the woman due to a cut mark on her wrist.

The Goa DGP also stated that, according to the initial doctor's report, the child's murder was a result of placing something on his mouth, leading to suffocation and death.

The 39-year-old entrepreneur was arrested in Karnataka's Chitradurga on Monday after staff at the apartment found red stains in her room and alerted the local police.

The police contacted Seth's cab driver and asked him to divert the route to the nearest police station, where the CEO was eventually arrested. The child's body was found upon checking her luggage.

Sources told India Today that Seth was reportedly unhappy after a court order allowed her estranged husband, who hails from Kerala, to meet their son every Sunday.
