By Abdul Basheer: Police have filed a case against suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh for his controversial remarks during a Ram Navami rally in Hyderabad. Afzalgunj Police booked the suspended BJP MLA under Sections 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The case was filed based on a complaint filed by SI J Veera Babu from Afzalgunj Police Station, who stated that he was deputed in the SA Bazar area for maintaining the law and order situation in the area in wake of the suspended BJP MLA’s address at the Ram Navami rally.

He said the BJP MLA’s hate speech was recorded on a video camera by constable Kirthi Kumar when the rally was near Shanker Sher Hotel, who requested to take action against Raja Singh. SHO M Ravindar Reddy has been appointed the investigation officer.

Raja Singh’s shoba yatra reached SA Bazar at 9 pm. Riding an elephant, the politician delivered his speech in Hindi. T Raja Singh, who is known for his contentious remarks, had courted another controversy during Ram Navami celebrations in Hyderabad by saying that only followers of the two-child policy would be given the right to vote if India became a Hindi rashtra.

“If India becomes a Hindu rashtra, only believers of the ‘we two, our two’ policy will get voting rights,” he said, adding that the ones who follow the ‘we five, our 50’ policy will not be allowed to vote.

He said, “Our saints have started picturing what the Hindu rashtra will look like. Its constitution is also being drafted. The Hindu rashtra’s capital will not be Delhi. Saints are choosing between Kashi, Mathura and Ayodhya.”

He said the Hindu rashtra will be tax-free for farmers and there will be no cow slaughter there and conversion.

The suspended MLA was booked by the Mumbai Police for delivering an alleged hate speech during an event held in Mumbai in January this year. T Raja Singh participated in the Sakal Hindu Samaj rally organised in Mumbai on January 29.
