The BJP is likely to drop its Kaiserganj sitting MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment by women wrestlers, and field his son from the seat, sources told India Today TV. The sources said the BJP leadership had a phone conversation with Brij Bhushan over the Kaiserganj seat and his son, Karan Bhushan Singh, may be given the Lok Sabha ticket.

Polling will be held in Kaiserganj in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 20.

Brij Bhushan, who was the president of the Wrestling Federation of India for nearly a decade, was accused by six women wrestlers of sexual harassment. A massive protest by top Indian wrestlers like Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia was held in Delhi's Jantar Mantar against Brij Bhushan.

Following the wrestlers' protest, the Delhi Police registered a case against Brij Bhushan in June 2023. However, he was granted bail on July 20, 2023. A Delhi court has reserved its order on framing of charges against the six-term BJP MP.
