The BJP has lashed out at the Siddaramaiah government over communal tension in Karnataka's Shivamogga. Earlier on Sunday, tension prevailed in the Ragi Gudda area of Shivamogga following stone pelting during the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi processions, forcing the district administration to clamp prohibitory orders in the locality.Shivamogga SP G.K. Mithun Kumar told the media, “There was stone-pelting in Ragi Gudda in the evening. We have dispersed the crowd, and the situation is under control. Prohibitory orders have been enforced as per Section 144 of the CrPC in Ragi Gudda”.

According to sources, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Arjun Ram Meghwal are likely to contest in Rajasthan Assembly polls. In other news, Opposition bloc INDIA will be holding the 'Main bhi Gandhi' march and rally in Mumbai against the BJP’s “divide and rule policy” and “divisive politics”. The march will start at 2 pm from Metro Cinema and head to Hutatma Chowk towards Fashion Street, to MG Road, towards Balasaheb Thackeray Statue, to Regal Cinema, to the Ambedkar and Rajiv Gandhi Statues and culminate at the Mahatma Gandhi statue. In addition, TMC will also be holding a two-day protest in New Delhi against the Central government on October2-3 for "withholding" the funds for MGNREGA and other Central government-sponsored schemes.
