By India Today Web Desk: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is carrying out raids at the Hoogly residence of Trinamool youth leader Kuntal Ghosh in connection with the Bengal jobs scam.

The ED had earlier arrested former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and seized a mountain of cash from his residence.

The case pertains to an alleged scam in teacher recruitment in West Bengal.

As per the CBI, more than Rs 100 crore was allegedly raised by TMC leaders from job aspirants to employ them as teachers and staff at state-run schools across West Bengal between 2014 and 2021.

Tapas Mondal, who was president of the association of Bengal’s private-run colleges and institutions, had accused Kuntal Ghosh of raising money from job seekers during his interrogation by the CBI.

Now, raids are underway at Ghosh's Hoogly flat. The ED is probing the money trail in the case.

Tapas Mondal had claimed that Ghosh raised Rs 19.5 crore from job aspirants.

Sources told India Today that ED officials are conducting raids and are interrogating Ghosh in the case.
