By Abdul Basheer: Another case has been registered against suspended BJP MLA Raja Singh in Hyderabad's Shahinayathgunj Police Station over alleged intent to provoke breach of peace and incite enmity on religious grounds. This came after he was booked over an alleged hate speech that was recorded on camera by constable Kirthi Kumar during the Ram Navami rally.

Raja Singh, at present, is embroiled in another alleged hate speech during the Jan Akrosh rally held in Mumbai in January. Raja Singh was suspended from the BJP in 2019 over his alleged derogatory remarks about the Prophet Muhammad.

As per the case registered by Superintendent of Police Raghavendra Reddy, on the eve of the Ram Navami Shoba Yatra procession, Raja Singh reached Chudi Bazar, where he addressed a gathering with the intent of causing disharmony.

At the site, Singh addressed the gathering and delivered a speech, saying that a 'Hindu rashtra' should be established pan-India.

As per the complaint, after his speech concluded, his supporters waved Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse's portrait.

Raja Singh's supporters and members of the procession also raised slogans with the alleged intention of creating enmity on religious grounds. Thus, the BJP leader has been slapped with charges under sections 505(2) (promoting enmity on religious grounds) and 504 (breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Raja Singh is a legislator from the Goshamahal Assembly constituency. However, his office stands suspended at the moment due to the 2019 controversy that led to massive protests across the state.

In December 2022, Raja Singh made news after he condemned New Year's celebrations and said it was not a part of Indian culture.
