Amit Shah's twist to 'Maa, Maati, Manush' to attack Mamata Banerjee

Training his guns on Mamata Banerjee, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said the West Bengal Chief Minister gave the Ram Mandir consecration event a miss as she was afraid of offending her "infiltrator vote bank".

Addressing a rally in Memari in Purba Bardhaman district, Shah said, "She (Mamata) was invited. Bhatija (Abhishek Banerjee) was invited. They didn't go. You know why? Because they are scared of ghuspaithiyas (infiltrators)," he said.

"Mamata said she would make a government of Maa, Maati, Manush but made a government of Mullah, Madrasa and Mafia," Shah said while sharpening his attack on Mamata.

The veteran BJP leader also accused the West Bengal Chief Minister of maintaining a stoic silence on sexual abuse cases in Sandeshkhali just for the "sake of appeasement".

"Just for (the sake of) appeasement, a woman chief minister let women be subjected to atrocities in Sandeshkali," Amit Shah said.

Sandeshkhali has been in the news since the attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials who had gone to raid TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan in an alleged ration scam. Soon, several women levelled allegations of systemic sexual exploitation and land grabbing by Trinamool leaders.

The Home Minister also attacked the Trinamool Congress-led government for doing nothing concrete to stop cross-border infiltration.

"Don't you think that infiltration should be stopped ? You think Mamata Banerjee will stop it? No, because of her vote-bank politics" he said.

Amit Shah also lashed out at the government in the state for opposing the Citizen Amendment Act (CAA). "Mamata (Banerjee) says she won't allow CAA? What is her problem with Hindu refugees coming from Bangladesh?" he said.

Amit Shah underscored that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi could fulfil the dream of a "Sonar Bangla" (a golden Bengal).

Amit Shah said while the TMC supremo questions Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on her party leaders, she does not bother to see the huge cache of money recovered from them.
