NEW DELHI: An eight-year-old boy was abused allegedly by a group of senior students at an

NDMC school

in south Delhi. Police said they are trying to identify the culprits.
According to the cops, the incident took place on December 24 but came to light only on December 28, when the boy's mother, while giving him a bath, noticed a nylon thread tied around his genitals.
"He started crying and told his mother that some seniors in school had abused him and tied the thread around his private parts. He said the boys had abused him inside one of the school's washrooms. The parents rushed the boy to a hospital, where he was examined and found to be fine except for some infection. The hospital called the police control room to inform the cops," revealed a police officer.
Chandan Chowdhary

, DCP (South), said, "The child is normal but under observation. He is being given counselling. The matter is being dealt with sensitively." She said the school is shut at present and the boy hadn't been able to provide details of his assaulters. "The investigating officer will visit the school with the child to identify the alleged persons. A team will also visit the school for a detailed inspection," she added.

The boy's father, who works as a sanitation worker and labourer, said they were shocked to see the thread tied around his private parts and asked him about it. "He started crying and narrated how a group of seniors assaulted him last week. He was petrified and hid the incident because the seniors had threatened him. We want legal action against those boys," the father said.
