7 AAP MLAs offered Rs 25 crore to quit party: Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asserted on Saturday that the BJP has purportedly offered Rs 25 crore each to seven of its MLAs in Delhi to defect from the party, while also allegedly threatening to overthrow the Kejriwal government.
In response, the Delhi BJP dismissed the accusation and dared the AAP to disclose the names of the MLAs and the individuals who supposedly approached them with the offer.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal posted on social media that seven of his party's MLAs had been approached by unidentified individuals and cautioned that he, as the AAP convener, would soon face arrest.

According to Kejriwal, the callers claimed to be in contact with 21 AAP MLAs and promised them Rs 25 crore along with a BJP ticket each to contest elections after the overthrow of the Delhi government.
Kejriwal emphasized that all seven AAP MLAs rejected the offer and asserted that attempts were being made to arrest him in connection with an alleged liquor scam to destabilize the AAP government in Delhi.
During a press conference, Delhi Minister Atishi alleged that the BJP has initiated 'Operation Lotus 2.0' in Delhi, pointing out that a similar attempt to lure AAP MLAs with money failed last year.

Denying the allegations, Delhi BJP Secretary Harish Khurana challenged Atishi to identify the contacted MLAs and those making the offer. He accused the AAP of attempting to divert attention from Kejriwal skipping Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons related to the liquor scam. Kejriwal mentioned that various conspiracies over the past nine years to overthrow the AAP government in Delhi had all been unsuccessful.
